Kensa was approached to create a stand-out brand to champion British cheese in the form of waxed truckles. The client wanted a brand mascot to rival the likes of household names like Mr Kipling and Aunt Bessie. Needless to say, our team of creatives were already frantically doodling away!
We had so many ideas for Mister Cheese’s identity, we made this part of the brand story. Mister Cheese isn’t just any mascot – he’s one that travels through time and space to seek out the very best flavours of cheese, taking on a new disguise for each adventure.
We crafted a bespoke eCommerce store to tell the story of Mister Cheese, with tasting notes of each flavour to tickle the tastebuds of cheese fanatics, including a “build-a-box” feature for customers to choose their favourite flavour combinations.
Our in-house production team set up a photography studio complete with a full size cheeseboard and fresh ingredients to capture a range of mouth-watering hero shots to use throughout the website and brand launch campaign. Being able to eat the spoils of our labour at the end was just a bonus!
Without guidelines, branding is just proof of concept. This crucial stage involves rationalising decisions made in creative process to ensure the new branding can survive everything the real world has to throw at it.
Mister Cheese’s big debut
To introduce our cheesy mascot to the real world, we orchestrated a multi-platform social media brand launch campaign bursting with teaser posts, new flavour releases, video reels, exclusive discounts, seasonal promotions, competitions and more.
